Catching Up

I know its been a loooonnnngggg time since I've posted, but I'm here now. Let's see....
After the wedding, we took care of Parker while Dave & Carissa were on their honeymoon. It was the 1st time to actually know what it was to take care of a dog & it was fun! He would have Bible study with us as you can see in this picture.
While he was here, our cousin's family came for a visit. It was so nice to see them for longer than a quick "Hi!" & "Good-bye". They only stayed a couple of days, but I felt like we caught up. I actually got to know Tavi & Nayah instead of just seeing them in pictures.

The kids were afraid of Parker at first, but then they got used to him. Here they are all packed in their SUV to leave.

That Sat. we went to Jeremy's graduation party at Brent & Natalie's. We had fun playing kickball, football & basketball.

Later Dave, Carissa, Sarah, & John came back and stayed for a little while, and we went to Ohiopyle hiked around, we had a good time. This is the last time the whole family is going to be to together for a long time!

At the end of July - beginning of August, we went to Aunt Vicki's. We had a lot of fun going to their youth group with my cousin, Brianna. We had fun swimming & just hanging out. The last night there, A. Vicki took us to the river front park. The next day we headed home.

As we were coming home we stopped at Buckeye Lake for a family reunion. It was such nice weather that day. Last year it rained.

That following Friday evening, we went to a thing called Praise in the Park. Our youth group did dramas & were the opening band. We had a great time hanging out! Surprise.... Moose won the grand prize - a Nintendo Wii!!!!

The next day, Dad, Moose & I went to the Steam Show while Dan returned to the Praise in the Park to do more dramas.

We saw all the old machinery, I learned a lot about the way they worked. While we were there we had a great chicken dinner!

They also had an antique car show there too, so this has been a summer of anitque cars in one form or another. They also had 1 of the biggest oxen teem I've ever seen. They were HUGE!

So far this summer had been a good active summer, I still have more to tell but have run out of space & time. I'll tell you more tomorrow.

the wedding

David and Carissa got married on Saturday, July 5 2008. I'm not putting picture up because others have posted them. If you want to see them go to the side bar & click on the last 2 link to my cousins' blogs. My mother still hasn't posted hers either, but she plans to.

Dave brought Parker up the Thursday before & then we headed on up to Detroit area. We got to see fireworks all over as we pulled into the motel. The next day we went over to Carissa's parents' house & helped set up for the garden party. We worked hard to get the place ready. Then before you knew it it was time for the rehearsal. So we all got changed & headed over to the church. They had a lady who helped organize the wedding. All I had to do was walk people down then open the doors. Andrew walked the parents down. I didn't have to do as much as I did with my sister's & that was fine with me.

day camp

Every year, the last week of June, Harriet lets the church use her farm for VBS Day Camp. We help a few days this year. We haven't been around for this time of the year in 2 years, so we were able to help this year. We were the oxen team this year. After the opening service on Monday, the first thing we did was to shovel mulch. Then set up the bounce-around and helped out with recreation. Tuesday we helped out with the obstacle course and put hay bales on a trailer in Miss Harriet's garden. Thursday we helped out with recreation and we cleaned out this nasty grill.

Here are some pix from Tuesday:
Jake wiping out!
Ricky finishing.
John-T setting the record. He did it in 1:04 min.

I'm throwing the football.

It was a great camp; I really enjoyed it!

Lately

Wednesday the whole youth group went swimming at Sarah Boyer's in-ground pool for a few hours, which it felt good in this HOT weather. then later we went to the park and messed around.
we had a good time.

Thursday we were back to Miss Harriet's farm for youth group for the summer. Since Brent was in Russia, she gave the lesson. She taught on the different kinds of anointings.

Then today we helped Aunt Jacque move. She picked us up at 8 am. We almost got the truck loaded when it began to pour! It took us a couple of trips and I got soaked in the process. It was an all day project, but we did it. Mom had Aunt Jacque over for dinner since it was a tiring day. While we waited for dinner to cook, Dad took Dan driving up at the high school. We had Cheesy Stuffed Shells and it was good! Boy was I hungry!

the weekend

Saturday morning we got up early & got our fishing gear together, & headed over to Carmine's (a friend of Bill Day) 4 acre pond. We got there & Bill had made blueberry buckwheat pancakes. They were really good! Then we starting fishing for a couple of hour before lunch. I caught 4 bluegill right next to the dock. The biggest one was 10". But the biggest fish caught all weekend was 20". We had hotdog on the fire with chips for lunch. Someone brought a huge hoagie & they couldn't finish it, so we split it. Then we fished till 3 when Mom came to pick us up.

Then ran home & showered & got ready to go to Brittini Scott's birthday party. We arrived there just as her parents were heading to join the rest at Trinity High School. So we hopped in to her dad's car & headed over. First thing we played was ultimate frisbee. Then we played football, my team won both games! Later we headed back to her house. Moose & I watched them play Dance, Dance Revolution. Then the pizza arrived. Afterwards we played basketball. After dark, we ate cake & watched Brittini open her gifts. We watch the Penguin game while she did that. Part way through the game i went out to the bonfire they had out back until my Mom came.

During Sunday morning service Kamerone, Dan, & Brittini did the sermons, in that order. Kamerone spoke about his healing, Dan spoke on Phil 3:14, & Brittini spoke on Eccl 3:1-8 relating it to her birthday. They did good. Afterwards the drama team practiced their dramas. Then we headed to the church next door for the 2 youth groups to get together & get to know each other. When we got there we ate hamburgers & hotdogs. Then they played volleyball while I played basketball.

Then they came in & we played dodgeball. When they went out to play ultimate frisbee, I returned to playing basketball. Later we ate pizzas. We chilled until the drama teams were ready. The team for "Out of the Gray" went first, then the other team did "Everything". After they were done Andrea, who coached the teams, spoke about the salvation message in the dramas & asked if anyone wanted to be saved. Then she prayed with us. By this point my mom had come to get us. I had a blast!
