California got rocked!

the retreat

This past weekend was our church's retreat. It started when we went to the gym next door and played dodge ball for a couple of hours. Then we came back for the afterglow, and Higher Ground praise band did the worship. Then we had free time and afterwards, we went to bed. After breakfast the next morning, Pastor Ken Huhn, from New Wine church in Pleasant Hills, spoke a great message on Gideon. He brought his sword to help teach the lesson. It was cool & had the star of David on it. He had us break up into buzz group to discuss the lesson. Then he continued on how we should not listen to people who call you names. Afterwards we had lunch, another lesson, & later we went back to the gym and played games. Then we had free time later. We had chicken & biscuits for dinner. Higher Ground praise band had their concert, then Pastor Ken spoke again again. He was real good. He talked a lot about what his son went through as a kid. Then he had us put on paper all the names we have ever been called and Pastor Ken had us burn it in a fire in the back yard. On Sunday morning the praise band & Pastor Ken did the service. It was a powerful service! The whole weekend was good!

Bentworth won again! against a AAA school! Now their in the playoffs!

Today Bentworth played Frazier. the JV team lost but the varsity team won by 50. the score was 77 Bentworth 27 Frazier and Jon laid in his 2-hand slam dunk! It was senior night, we stayed afterwards for a party. They had some good food!
